About This Position

OVERVIEW
Perform a wide variety of accounting, audit and tax assignments under the supervision of different Managers and Partners. Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. Work closely with Partner-in-Charge on engagements. Be flexible to meet the needs of clients and firm. Seasonal overtime is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    Record transactions in ledgers, prepare trial balances and simple financial statements using computer software Reconcile accounts to control accounts Perform scheduled computations of accruals, property and equipment, and calculate depreciation expense Prepare payroll tax, sales or other business tax and personal income tax returns Assist in proofing financial statements, tax returns and other documents Preparation of compiled, reviewed and audited financial statements General bookkeeping, payroll and business consultation Collect appropriate data for tax preparation Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, capital, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position Devise and implement systems for general accounting Document, modify, and coordinate implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures Preparation of spreadsheets as deemed necessary Responsible for all aspects of client accounts including client meetings and presentations Assist with staff training Supervise projects and assign work as necessary Develop client relationships Perform other accounting, auditing and tax duties as needed in engagements and as assigned by Managers and Partners Promote CDS’s additional services and present at client seminars Attend training and development opportunities to develop interpersonal and professional expertise Encompass the CDS core values: integrity, quality, collaboration, innovation, and kindness Assist with firm initiatives Mentors staff Perform other duties as assigned Occasional out-of-town travel to client sites, meetings, office locations, and seminars may be required
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Accounting degree or educational requirements to sit for the CPA exam required, CPA preferred
  • Well-rounded knowledge of accounting principles and income tax
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Strong decision-making and problem solving skills
  • Analytical skills with particular attention to detail
  • Effective, timely, and professional communication skills
  • Flexible, team player, who is also self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality required
  • Desire to continue to develop and enhance skills
  • Exceptional time management skills with an ability to organize and prioritize projects, and meet deadlines

Wage Range: $62,000-$95,000
