Summary:

The Manager, Revenue Contracts is responsible for the overall administration of revenue contracts for EPRI. The Manager understands EPRI’s business policies, oversees the contracting activities from strategy through execution of agreements, and recognizes that the work performed under these contracts provision research and development (R&D) and commercial services within the global energy industry.

Key responsibilities include managing a team of contract professionals, advising senior leadership on contractual challenges, reviewing legal terms, and optimizing contract lifecycles. This position supervises the Revenue Contracts team, directing the negotiation and administration of funding instruments for an annual contract portfolio greater than $200M. The Manager, Revenue Contracts seeks opportunities for process improvement and new strategies for customer contract negotiations.

The Manager, Revenue Contracts serves as a strategic thought partner to key stakeholders to support EPRI’s growth strategies. This person may also be called upon to represent the Director, Customer Experience in meetings and presentations to customers and management.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage Revenue Contracts Team

  • Develops and manages the team responsible for contract negotiations in EPRI’s domestic non-government and international customer contracts
  • Establishes and implements procedures, operational goals and strategic objectives for the Revenue Contracts group
  • Monitors the workload balance across the team to ensure timely response and business continuity
  • Negotiates master agreements and other special agreements that may fall under the revenue contracts function

Administration of Revenue Contracts and Portals

  • Designs, implements, manages, and audits the contract administration processes and functions
  • Ensures compliance with EPRI policy for all contractual processes and actions
  • Ensures timely delivery, execution, and reporting of customer contracts
  • Oversees contract lifecycle management (CLM) workflow for EPRI revenue contracts
  • Leads management of customer portals for EPRI, coordinating with Proposals, Government, Finance, and Legal for reviews of portal terms, gateway, and NDA terms.
  • Provides internal review and approval of special contract provisions, ensuring appropriate consultation with legal, export control, finance, and business operations
  • Identifies and executes opportunities for process improvement in customer contract operations

Leadership

  • Serves as a strategic thought partner to key stakeholders to support EPRI’s growth strategies
  • Collaborate with Legal, Finance, and Sales teams to align contracts with business goals.
  • Reviews pre-negotiation strategy with EPRI staff, provides guidance during negotiation process, and conducts customer mediation as necessary
  • Ensure negotiated agreements contain acceptable and consistent terms/conditions relative to current EPRI policy, practices, and precedent
  • Represents EPRI Revenue Contracts to customers and EPRI senior management
  • Leads the contracts team in the review and interpretation of international proposal opportunities, suggesting contract language commensurate with EPRI policy, risk appetite and mission focus

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical, business, or legal field with additional professional education and/or equivalent experience relevant to contracts negotiation and administration
  • Graduate degree such as JD or MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant experience negotiating complex contractual transactions
  • Experience in US and International business preferred
  • Knowledge or experience in the energy industry preferred
  • Experience successfully managing, leading, mentoring and training teams
  • Experience in the use of ERP and Contract Lifecycle Management or other equivalent software
  • Prior experience with online contracting and electronic signatures

  • Proven ability to communicate to all levels across organization and with diverse external stakeholders
  • Proven ability to effectively develop, motivate and manage staff
  • Excellence in problem-solving
  • International business experience and fluency in multiple languages a plus
  • Proven ability to forge and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers
The salary range for this position is $125,000 USD to $145,000 USD annually.This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s annual incentive program. The amount of incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the plan.This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s standard employee benefit programs, which currently include the following: medical, dental, vision, 401k, STD/LTD and paid family leave, life and accident insurance, paid time off (flexible vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay).EPRI participates in E-Verify, an online system operated jointly by the Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration (SSA).
