Position Summary

The Catering Associate is responsible for patient food service on assigned units (menu selections, tray delivery and pick-up, special requests and in-between meal food delivery.

Core Job Functions
- Refers patient questions or concerns to the clinical dietitian as appropriate. Collaborates with dietitian to provide nutrition care as requested.
- Obtains information regarding new admissions, transfers and discharges and diet changes. Provides late trays, special requests as needed. Communicates any patient issues to nurse or managers.
- Obtains meal selections from patients, offering menu alternatives as permitted on diet, considering food allergies/intolerances, cultural, ethnic and religious preferences. Delivers meals and nourishments, rounds after meals, and retrieves trays from rooms.
- Completes weekly food service patient satisfaction surveys on assigned unit. Responds to patient and nursing requests through zone phone availability. Communicates complaints or special needs to appropriate manager.
