About This Position
Job Summary:
The Medical Nursing Director is accountable and responsible, under the direct supervision of the Administrator, for the overall coordination and direction of all nursing activities on assigned areas. Employs organizational strategies in a balanced approach that produces meaningful contributions to each element of the Formula for Success. Requires the promotion of and adherence to the organization’s established Compliance Program and Standards of Conduct. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.
Performance Expectations:
- Properly uses and operates equipment assigned including but not limited to: telemetry monitors, woundvac, IV infusion pumps, accucheck and defibrillator, PC, printer, fax, and telephone.
- Embraces and practices “We Care” philosophy in all aspects of patient, visitor, co-worker, employee and non-employee care and communication.
- Communicates effectively with others in an appropriate and timely manner. Adheres to and promotes established values of the organization, i.e. customer service, safety, infection control and compliance standards.
- Consistently follows patient care and Forrest Health policy, procedures and standards of care in performing duties.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
- Must complete a thorough physical assessment of patients.
- Consistently respects and maintains patient confidentiality.
- Appropriately uses management skills to supervise nursing personnel and be a team manager for the facility.
- Possesses leadership vision.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills
Graduate of a recognized RN program and Associate degree in nursing and/or other health related field.
Work Experience:
A minimum of five years post graduate progress in nursing, required, leadership experience-required.
Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
- Licensed RN able to practice within the State of MS
