Under direct supervision, the Medical Assistant will join our esteemed organization in a high and professional manner. The successful candidate will play a critical role in providing comprehensive support to our medical staff and ensuring the effective delivery of patient care. This position requires a compassionate professional who can perform a variety of clinical and administrative duties with accuracy and efficiency. The Medical Assistant will assist healthcare providers in preparing patients for examinations, collecting vital signs and medical histories, administering medications and injections as directed, and maintaining patient records in compliance with regulations. Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient confidentiality are crucial. As a vital part of our team, the Medical Assistant will contribute to creating a welcoming environment for patients while supporting medical procedures and facilitating smooth clinical operations. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of medical terminology, be proficient in electronic health records, and demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED AND six months of related experience in a medical setting. Must obtain and maintain BLS certification.

Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for medical examinations and procedures.
- Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Assist Providers with tasks during patient visits.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and collect specimens as instructed.
- Administer medications and injections under the supervision of Clinical Lead and/or Educational Coordinator.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and documentation.
- Maintains nursing stations and examination areas in a manner consistent with OSHA standards.
- Answer and screen phone calls.
- Exhibits a high degree of courtesy and poise when interacting with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Perform X-Ray and EKG (training is provided)
- Assist Occupational Medicine staff with Urine Specimens as needed.
- Performs other related duties assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications:

- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Strong charting/documentation skills.
- Ability to understand and adhere to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple health professionals in a busy and complex environment.
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Frequently required to walk, sit, and stand.
- Occasionally exposed to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials
- Occasionally required to travel for training purposes and attend at least two community clinic events each year.
