Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Assistant (Tee Assembly)

Department: Distribution

Reports to: Distribution and Safety Manager

Location: Caledonia, MN

FLSA Status: Hourly

General Overview: Responsible for receiving, distributing, and maintaining materials used in shipping and production for the manufacturing of the finest sporting good products. Responsible for pulling, packaging, and processing orders for shipment of the finest sporting good products while working in a safe, organized environment in the Distribution Department.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Transport product between buildingsBox up inventory from productionCount, monitor, and maintain required levels of inventory for shipping and report when lowWrap and band pallets for storage and skid ordersLoad and unload palletsCollect and discard recyclables including cutting up cardboardAssist with 6S for the shipping and warehouse locationsDeliver outgoing mail to the post officeNotify shipping lead of items transported from storage buildingsOrganize and maintain storage buildings in a neat and well-organized mannerReceive in packing slips/purchase orders and deliver to manufacturingPackage and process orders for shipment including special requests, call tags, and trackingCommunicate with delivery truck company personnel regarding shipmentsAssist manufacturing, maintenance, safety and R&D when neededAssist with EH&S monthly checks and other itemsDrive to and pick up parts/components/supplies from local vendors

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Education Required:

High school diploma and one to two years of shipping and warehouse experienceAbility to work independently as well as part of a teamGood verbal and written communication skillsAttention to detailValid Driver’s LicenseGood JudgementForklift certifiedOrganizational skillsAbility to problem solve

Working Conditions: Clean organized, climate-controlled production and warehouse work environment

Safety Hazards: Depending upon department, may be exposed to dust, air borne fibers, dirt, noise, vibrations, chemicals, and solvents. Work is also performed outside in extreme temperatures ranging from hot and humid to snow and freezing temperatures. Walking and driving between buildings year-round is required. Safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves are required while performing certain tasks.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as specifications and procedures. Must have good verbal communication skills.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply concepts of basic math and reading measurements (fractions and decimals)

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to recognize a situation and escalate clearly.

Ability to deal with problems and contribute to problem solving.
