Summary

The Design and Marketing Production Specialist supports the creation and execution of in-store and digital marketing materials for The Duck Store. This position provides a robust opportunity to be involved in several facets of design and content marketing. Reports Marketing Manager.

Design and Marketing Production Specialist Wage and Benefits

$20 per hour. After required waiting periods benefits include holiday, vacation and sick pay; 401(k) pension plan; merchandise discount; employee assistance program; and UO Associate ID.

Hours and Work Environment

  • Part-Time position, approximately 20 hrs a week – occasional evenings or weekends during store events
  • On site work at Flagship Duck Store on 13th and Kincaid to include both office/design workspace and active retail store environment. Combines desk-based computer work with hands-on support on sales floor and special events

Design and Marketing Production Specialist Responsibilities

  • Develop and design visual layouts for select projects including promotional posters, mailers, pamphlets, magazine spreads, digital ads, billboards and more
  • Develop and design logos and digital illustrations as needed
  • Follow established brand guidelines to ensure consistency across materials
  • Prepare files for printing and production
  • Support seasonal promotions, sales events and special campaigns.
  • Develop relevant copy for promotional needs
  • Maintain organized digital files and marketing materials
  • Complete other duties as assigned
Position Requirements

Design and Marketing Production Specialist Required Skills

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed coursework in Design, Advertising, Marketing or Visual Arts
  • Fluency with Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, Acrobat
  • Design-based personal website or project portfolio
  • Ability to balance own creative perspective with overall brand guidelines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn and take direction
  • Adaptable to fast-paced environment
  • Deadline-oriented and well organized with a schedule
  • Comfortable working independently while contributing to a team
  • Creative problem solver

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiar with the University of Oregon Ducks brand including various student groups, sports and organizations

Design and Marketing Production Specialist Physical Requirements

The physical requirements listed below are representative of those needed to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Reasonable accommodation may be provided in accordance with applicable laws.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer
  • Frequent standing and walking on the retail sales floor
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds (marketing materials, signage, display items)
  • Ability to reach, bend, kneel, and use a step stool to place signage or promotional materials
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer and handle printed materials
  • Visual ability to review design work in detail on screen and in print
