About This Position

Financial Systems Administrator

Position Highlights:

  • Supports selection, installation, configuration, implementation and ongoing utilization of Moffitt’s financial systems (ERP) and ancillary databases/department owned tools.
  • Develops reports and analyses from Moffitt's financial systems as requested to support Accounting. These reports assist leadership with determining reasonableness of financial assumptions and reporting to identify significant financial trends, risks and opportunities in support of leadership.
  • Develops and maintains application interfaces, monitors performance and facilitates Accounting control processes if applicable to role.
  • Performs ongoing and adhoc financial analyses and internal controls.
  • Uses inherent knowledge of Moffitt operations and business processes when developing reports.
  • Maintains a strong understanding of operational practices.
  • Supports monthly and recurring financial processes, reporting and projects

Responsibilities:

  • Integrated financial systems management (or budget, productivity, statistical systems) in conjunction with component 2 (specific system may vary)
    • Functional System Administrator for Accounting related Financial Systems: Supports selection, installation, configuration, conversion, implementation and ongoing utilization of systems and any other ancillary databases or department owned tools.
      • Supports the annual financial reporting audit and quarterly filings processes.
      • Supports the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting tools used for reconciliations and internal controls/compliance.
      • Financial systems interfaces.
    • Maintains a strong understanding of business systems that impact the financial systems, including but not limited to: ERP systems, Accounts Payable Automation tools, Bank supported transmissions and GL reconciliation tools
      • Develops and modifies calculation rules, allocation scripts, load rules, etc. if applicable.
      • Employs best practices, tuning, & performance optimizations
      • Design and develop security models.
      • Develops web forms, task lists, etc. if applicable.
      • Provides education to customers on reporting and analysis resources available from applicable systems.
      • Develops and maintains controls to ensure data integrity, including but not limited to developing ongoing financial reasonableness tests.
      • Coordinates with IT to install any required upgrades to production. Communicates impact of system upgrades / updates to other Finance team members and end-users
  • Management Reporting and Financial Analysis
    • Develops reports and analysis to assess reasonableness of financial metrics to identify significant trends, risks and opportunities in support of management and customers throughout Moffitt. This may include, but is not limited to, the development of reports using ERP tables/systems, Accounts Payable Automation and imaging, , SQL, department owned databases, Hyperion Financial Reporting and bank related systems..
    • Uses inherent knowledge of Moffitt operations and business processes when developing reports and analysis.
    • Independently analyzes and identifies the optimal means for presenting data.
    • Continually seeks to identify opportunities for new/enhanced reports.
    • Maintains a strong understanding of financial management concepts, including but not limited to: financial reporting, revenue cycle, productivity, accounting.
  • Serves as subject matter expert to assist customers with process flow improvements.
  • Serves as financial advisor assisting customers with adhoc reporting across the Enterprise
  • Monitors daily interface of ERP data tables with related systems used by the department
  • Cross-train within department, which may include but is not limited to accounting, banking capital, productivity, or costing (as assigned).

Credentials and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Accounting or Finance (Master’s preferred)
  • Minimum seven (7) years in accounting or financial systems administration to include budgeting, forecasting, productivity, statistical, and management reporting applications and systems (e.g., Kaufman Hall, Oracle/Hyperion, LaborLytics, Lawson, visualization tools, Accounts Payable automation).
  • Preferred Certification (CPA)
  • Preferred Experience
    • Familiarity with common database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2) and ability to create relational database queries and table joins.
    • Experience with integrated financial applications in a hospital or healthcare setting.
    • Financial analysis/systems administration in a hospital or other healthcare setting.
