Job Description

Physical Security Design Consultant

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Physical Security Design Consultant in United States.

This role sits at the intersection of engineering expertise, security strategy, and high-impact project delivery within complex, large-scale environments such as data centers. You will be responsible for leading the design and execution of advanced physical security solutions, ensuring they meet strict client standards, technical requirements, and operational objectives. Working in a highly collaborative yet autonomous setting, you will guide external consultants, oversee technical deliverables, and ensure consistency, quality, and compliance across all design documentation. The position requires both strong technical depth in physical security systems and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in fast-paced environments. You will also play a key role in shaping design standards, improving processes, and influencing how security systems are engineered and deployed at scale. This is a high-visibility role that directly contributes to strengthening security resilience for critical infrastructure and high-profile clients.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead physical security design efforts across multiple data center projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements, technical standards, and project timelines
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of security system design, including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and related infrastructure solutions
  • Manage and coordinate external consultants, reviewing and validating all design deliverables for accuracy, compliance, and quality
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, and critical deliverables while ensuring effective execution of security design objectives
  • Conduct site evaluations, define functional security requirements, and translate them into detailed engineering design documentation
  • Participate in the development and evolution of security design standards, templates, and scalable design frameworks
  • Provide subject matter expertise in project meetings, client discussions, and stakeholder engagements to guide decision-making and resolve issues
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews, on-site inspections, and final acceptance testing to ensure system performance and compliance
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in project management or consulting roles, ideally within complex infrastructure or data center environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, security, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong technical expertise in physical security systems, including access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection design
  • Proven experience producing detailed engineering documentation such as drawings, specifications, and design deliverables
  • Ability to manage external consultants and oversee technical work from concept through completion
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments with multiple concurrent projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools; familiarity with CAD tools (AutoCAD, Revit), Bluebeam, or project management platforms is a plus
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize critical path activities effectively
  • Ability to travel up to 25% and meet security screening requirements
Benefits:
  • Salary range: $120,000 – $135,000 annually
  • 100% employer-paid health, dental, vision, and life insurance premiums
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan
  • Remote-first work model with flexibility across the United States
  • Significant work schedule flexibility and supportive remote culture
  • Strong emphasis on professional autonomy and ownership of projects
  • Opportunity to work on high-impact, large-scale security design programs
  • Diverse, collaborative, and growth-oriented work environment
