Position Overview
The Tennis Professional plays a key role in delivering The Medallion Club experience by providing exceptional instruction, fostering a welcoming and member focused environment, and supporting the overall success of the tennis program. This position requires a commitment to service, strong communication skills, and a passion for creating a positive, community-oriented atmosphere for players of all ages and skill levels. The Tennis Professional will assist with lessons, clinics, events, and daily court operations while upholding club standards of excellence, safety, and hospitality.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality private and group tennis instruction for adults and juniors, ensuring a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Support the development and execution of tennis programs, clinics, leagues, and special events that enhance the member experience.
- Maintain a warm, approachable, and professional presence on the courts, ensuring members feel welcomed and supported.
- Assist with daily court operations, including court setup, equipment organization, and ensuring a safe playing environment.
- Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and a community-oriented atmosphere consistent with The Medallion Club experience.
- Communicate effectively with members, parents, and colleagues to ensure clarity, consistency, and high standards of service.
- Collaborate with the Head Tennis Pro and club leadership to uphold club standards and continuously improve program offerings.
- Represent The Medallion Club with professionalism and a commitment to service at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous experience teaching tennis in a club, academy, or similar environment.
- Strong playing ability and a solid understanding of tennis fundamentals, strategy, and technique.
- USPTA or PTR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a member focused mindset.
- Ability to create a positive, encouraging, and safe learning environment for players of all ages.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple programs or lessons simultaneously.
- Commitment to teamwork, hospitality, and upholding high standards of service.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and actively coach for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move tennis equipment as needed (ball baskets, ball machines, etc.).
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
