About This Position

Our Piano Sales Consultants are the front-line ambassadors who deliver a unique and compelling sales experience to the West Music Piano customer while meeting our mission of Encouraging people of all ages and abilities to: Play now. Play for life.

With a confident manner, proactive communication and strong ability to self-manage the sales process, Piano Consultants provide customers with a premium standard of service, based on strong customer relationships centered on trust and respect. Daily goals include maximizing sales and establishing long-term relationships while creating a positive buying experience for customers.

In addition to focusing on piano showroom sales, this Piano Sales Consultant position will involve outreach and business development within the institutional market. While the ability to play piano is not a requirement for the job, it is highly preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as business needs dictate.

  • Responsible for meeting piano sales goals through a combination of walk-in customers, utilizing email and telephone leads, and creating an active outreach program with both individual and institutional customers.
  • Pro-active approach in promoting the piano brands and West Music including developing and attending both on-site and off-site promotional and prospecting events and creating client outreach strategies and building individual client action plans to increase client retention and spend.
  • Responsible for performing skilled consultations and demonstrations designed to drive sales of products and education of customers.
  • Builds client confidence by creating an engaging interactive experience to assist them in selecting the appropriate product for their needs.
  • Follows-through with clients concerns and inquiries; maintain customer correspondence to build clientele and enhance relationships and drive business.
  • Build and maintain client base through consistent follow-up with phone calls and thank you notes, scheduling appointments to review new product line, and inviting to store events.
  • Develop and maintain a teacher network and actively promote West Music teacher programs.
  • Ability to manage basic store operations: processing shipment/transfers in a timely manner, merchandising goods on sales floor, maintaining perfect visual standards, aware of inventory/shortage concerns, communicate replenishment needs.
Requirements:

Education, Experience & Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

· Band or orchestra or piano instrument knowledge (knowledge and/or playing experience) required.

· The ability to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends is required.

· Must be able to be insured as a driver of West Music vehicles and have a current, non-restricted driver’s license.

Desired Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Business, or related field desired.

· The ability to play and demonstrate the functionality of a piano is desired.

· Prior luxury retail or outside sales experience preferred.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
