The Barista / Bartender at Neighborly is a highly visible, guest facing role responsible for creating exceptional beverage and dessert experiences while supporting dine-in and takeout service at Neighborly. This position blends the craft of a barista with the hospitality of a bartender. From handcrafted espresso drinks and specialty smoothies to soft serve desserts, and alcoholic slushies, this role requires strong multitasking, great communication, and a genuine love for serving people. Working behind the bar, this team member plays a critical role in orchestrating beverage flow for dine-in, takeout, and delivery guests, while also engaging guests seated at the bar. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys variety, and understands that hospitality is just as important as execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prepare and execute a wide range of beverages including espresso-based coffee drinks (hot and cold), specialty smoothies, soft serve desserts, cocktails, alcoholic slushies, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages, following Neighborly recipes and standards.

• Operate and maintain bar equipment including espresso machines, blenders, soft serve machines, slushy machines, and refrigeration units.

• Take full ownership of beverage quality, ensuring every drink meets Neighborly standards for taste, presentation, and consistency.

• Take orders and provide full menu guidance for guests seated at the bar, creating a welcoming and engaging experience.

• Coordinate drink production timing with runners and the kitchen to support smooth dine-in service.

• Hand out completed takeout and delivery orders to guests and drivers, ensuring accuracy, friendliness, and clear communication..

• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area throughout the shift.

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, alcohol service, and responsible beverage service guidelines.

• Friendly, outgoing, and confident engaging with guests.

• Ability to stay organized and composed during busy service periods.

• Attention to detail and pride in craft and presentation of drinks and desserts.

• Strong multitasking and time management skills in a fast paced environment.

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.

• Must meet legal requirements to serve alcohol in California (21+).

• Previous experience as a barista, bartender, or in a high volume guest facing food and beverage role required.
