Archives Student Employee Department: Archives Location: Columbia, MO Type: Student Employment, Part-time Pay: $15 (Pay range may vary based on geographic location) Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Job Summary: The purpose of this work-study position is to provide practical, insightful work experience in an academic archive Essential Functions: Assist in the day-to-day operations of the CC Archives. Work on special projects such as organization of materials, digitizing photographs or items, document and inventory items in the collection, assist with creating exhibit displays, etc. Display respect and civility to all constituencies in all communications. Attend work timely and on a regular basis during the established hours of operation. Other duties will vary and will be determined on an individual basis for each student Skills: Ability to fluently read, write, and understand the English language. Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills. Skilled in active listening, following instruction, critical thinking, teamwork, and time management. Familiarity in using web-based technologies like Google and Microsoft Suite of software. Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with or without direct supervision Education: Significant progress towards a bachelor's degree Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must lift, carry and move a minimum of pounds on an occasional basis. Must be able to type on a computer keyboard and use a computer monitor on a frequent and regular basis. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is rarely exposed to outside weather conditions; however, possible exposure to hazards and physical risks to personal safety may occur while operating certain equipment.
