The Auto Damage Claims Director is responsible for overseeing and continuously improving Auto Damage Claims operations. This position leads operational strategy across repairable damage, total loss, appraisal processes, and vendor management, with strong focus on efficiency, quality, customer experience, and cost control. This role also oversees regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and dispute resolution while developing a high-performing, accountable team culture.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the design and execution of operational strategies for auto physical damage claims.
  • Drive improvement in cycle time, accuracy, severity control, and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish performance metrics, dashboards, and accountability frameworks across teams.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and performance outcomes for repair networks, appraisal vendors, total loss providers, and salvage partners.
  • Develop and enforce vendor standards, SLAs, and quality controls.
  • Ensure consistent, defensible estimates and total loss valuations.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations, appraisal requirements, and internal controls.
  • Oversee audit, QA, and escalation processes to identify trends and drive corrective actions.
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance teams on dispute resolution and regulatory matters.
  • Lead and develop managers and supervisors responsible for auto damage operations.
  • Build a culture focused on continuous improvement, accountability, and customer trust.
  • Support talent development, workforce planning and succession strategies.
  • Partner with claims systems, analytics, and digital teams to optimize tools and workflows.
  • Lead adoption of new estimating technologies and automation where appropriate.
  • Balance efficiency gains with accuracy and customer experience.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree or higher required.

Equivalent experience may substitute for minimum educational requirements. Equivalent experience may include twelve (12) years of relevant experience.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of ten (10+) plus years of relevant experience in auto physical damage claims operations required, including vendor management, appraisal processes, and total loss handling.

Proven ability to lead large, operational teams and complex workflows while driving efficiency improvements, optimizing loss outcomes, and ensuring regulatory compliance required.

Exposure to multi-state operations and regulatory environments preferred.

Florida All-Lines Adjuster required.

Valid Driver’s License required.
