Geocgi is looking for a GIS Solution Architect to support our client, the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) onsite in The Hague, Netherlands. This position focuses on the sustainment, upgrade, and operational support of NATO’s Core GIS environment, ensuring system availability, security compliance, and alignment with approved baselines across NATO operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update the NATO Core GIS operational architecture.

• Support system upgrades and lifecycle management, including planning, execution, and post-upgrade validation.

• Develop, update, and maintain installation, configuration, and accreditation documentation for operational systems.

• Define and maintain secure configuration settings across infrastructure components, including operating systems, security tools, and enterprise services.

• Develop and maintain automated installation, configuration, and maintenance scripts to support repeatable and reliable deployments.

• Plan and execute migration activities from previous system baselines while minimizing operational disruption.

• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and operational validation activities for updated Core GIS baselines.

• Ensure reference systems remain current, compliant, and aligned with the latest approved NATO Core GIS configurations.

• Provide operational support and technical guidance to stakeholders during sustainment and upgrade activities.

As a candidate supporting NATO:

• Health and Social Insurance: Coverage through mandatory contributions to the national social security system, including health insurance, pension, unemployment, and family allowance benefits.

• Paid Leave Entitlements: Statutory annual leave, sick leave, and other types of leave as provided under applicable labor laws.

The following are requirements of the GIS Solution Architect:

• U.S. Citizen and possesses active U.S. Passport

• Fluency in English

• Active DoD or NATO Secret Clearance

• Bachelor’s or master’s Degree at a nationally recognized/certified in a GIS, IT, Computer or Software related discipline and a minimum of 6 years post-related experience.

• Extensive experience across enterprise IT operations, including networking, security, server environments, and enterprise applications.

• Strong experience supporting Enterprise GIS platforms in operational and sustainment roles.

• Demonstrated experience with VMware virtualization, including implementation, optimization, and operational management.

• Experience supporting and optimizing cloud-based environments within enterprise or government contexts.

• Proven experience executing version upgrades and migrations for large, complex systems.

• Proficiency in Python, ArcPy, PowerShell, or similar scripting languages for automation and operational support.

• Experience developing and maintaining Enterprise GIS system architectures in production environments.

• Strong background in upgrade planning, configuration management, and system baseline control.

• Solid expertise in IT infrastructure services, including databases, virtualization platforms, and network components, as required for enterprise system operations.

• Experience optimizing and maintaining security services such as anti-virus, firewalls, and network configurations.

• Demonstrated ability to work directly with customers and operational stakeholders.

• Prior experience working in international, multinational, or NATO-like environments involving both military and civilian personnel.

• Proven ability to collaborate effectively within multinational and multidisciplinary teams.

The annual base salary range for this position is anticipated to be 100,000 Euros. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position.
