Job Description

Intake Specialist | CPLC Prestamos

You’re the first step in helping small businesses move forward! As an Intake Specialist, you’ll be the welcoming first point of contact for entrepreneurs seeking lending and technical assistance. You’ll help gather the right information, understand client needs, and connect business owners with the resources that can help them succeed.

CPLC Prestamos is an award-winning Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and Community Development Entity that has provided small business loans and high-quality technical support services to business owners in underserved communities since 1980. CPLC Prestamos offers loan products, business consulting services, and investment opportunities across Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT IN THIS ROLE?

You will serve as the first point of contact for small business clients, efficiently gathering essential information and assessing their needs to determine the appropriate next steps.

You will ensure client information and documentation are accurate and complete while maintaining confidentiality and providing a professional, supportive experience.

You will coordinate intake procedures and direct clients to the appropriate internal resources, helping create a smooth transition between lending and technical assistance services.

You will manage multiple client inquiries and tasks in a high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and excellent customer service.

You will communicate proactively with internal teams, provide updates on client needs and potential roadblocks, and help ensure that services are delivered efficiently and effectively.

WHO YOU ARE?

You are organized, goal-oriented, detail-focused, and comfortable working directly with clients. You know how to listen, assess needs, communicate clearly, and keep things moving without letting important details fall through the cracks.

You are someone who can make sound decisions, solve problems using good judgment, manage competing priorities, and stay focused in a fast-paced environment. You also understand the importance of confidentiality when working with sensitive client and financial information.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

  • HSD/GED and 3 years of experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or a related field preferred

  • Experience in commercial lending/analysis preferred

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to multitask in high volume setting while maintaining efficiency

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
