Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Mechanical Designer is responsible for translating engineering intent into clear, accurate CAD deliverables used directly by fabrication, assembly, procurement, and quality teams.

This position is intended for candidates who are fully fluent in SolidWorks, capable of working independently, and comfortable producing drawings that require minimal clarification or rework before reaching the shop floor.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Produce detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings for engineered and manufactured nitrogen generation systems using SolidWorks, including assemblies, sub-assemblies, and fabrication details
  • Generate detailed drawings for process piping, tubing, valves, flanges, fittings, regulators, and instrumentation mounting, suitable for fabrication and assembly
  • Create and maintain drawings for skid-mounted equipment, including equipment layouts, mounting details, lifting features, and interface points

  • Apply consistent drafting standards, layering, naming conventions, and revision control within the CAD environment
  • Support bill of material (BOM) creation and updates for mechanical components and assemblies
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve drawing-related questions and ensure manufacturability
  • Identify interferences, missing information, or manufacturability concerns before drawings are released to production
  • Maintain organized CAD files and documentation within document control and ISO9001:2015
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of drafting standards, templates, and workflows
WHAT YOU BRING
  • College diploma or technical certification in Mechanical Drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline and relevant work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience producing mechanical drawings in an industrial manufacturing or engineered equipment environment
  • Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, with demonstrated ability to work quickly and accurately
  • Proven ability to produce clear, complete, production-ready drawings with minimal supervision
  • Strong understanding of mechanical components, materials, fasteners, and common manufacturing processes
  • Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerancing, and basic tolerance stack-ups
  • Experience working with revision control and document management systems within an ISO9001:2015 framework
  • High attention to detail and strong ownership of drawing quality
  • Proficiency working in both imperial and metric units.
  • Experience supporting engineered-to-order or capital equipment projects
  • Exposure to pressurized gas systems, piping, skids, frames, or industrial process equipment
  • Familiarity with nitrogen and compressed air processes and equipment
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs and interface effectively with mechanical or process engineers
