Engaged and challenged… NKC Health is excited to offer our Patient Care Tech training program. Are you interested in working directly with patients in the hospital? Do you have a great customer service attitude? Are you a good team player?

NKC Health campus will host a paid PCT program designed to train participants to start a career as a Patient Care Tech. The program consists of classroom training immediately followed by clinical instruction. During the paid training course, you will learn how to:

• Provide patient care, such as ambulation, bathing and toileting
• Work closely with nurses and other members of the care team
• Obtain vital signs
• Safely transfer patients
• Accurately document patient's vital signs and verify patient information
• Support patient needs through timely response to call systems

Required Qualifications

• Internal candidates: Employed with NKC Health for at least 180 days and be in good standing in your department.
• Positive attitude
• Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment
• Team player
• Willing to go above and beyond the job description

Program Information

• Start date: Monday, June 1st 2026.
• 100% attendance required
• Purchase of a stethoscope
• 18 month work commitment once you have completed the program

Length of program: 175hrs(approximately 6 weeks)

  • Onsite Acute Care clinical instruction

• After successfully completing the training program, you can apply for any open PCT position within the hospital.
• Internal candidates will be subject to all internal transfer policies.
