About This Position

Description:

Position Summary

Adams Leclair is seeking a highly organized, reliable, and self-sufficient Paralegal / Legal Assistant to support our attorneys through all phases of high-volume civil litigation matters. This position is well-suited for someone who enjoys structured, process-driven work, is comfortable managing recurring deadlines, and takes pride in producing accurate, timely results.

The ideal candidate can independently manage an active caseload with minimal supervision, stay on top of deadlines, and keep files and workflows running smoothly. Much of the work follows established procedures and templates, making this a great role for a paralegal who values consistency, organization, and efficiency.

We place a high value on professionalism, approachability, and teamwork. We are looking for someone who is collaborative, collegial, and communicative—someone who contributes positively to the firm culture and works well with attorneys, staff, clients, and self-represented parties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, review, and organize documentation to support litigation matters
  • Conduct conflict checks and open new matters in the firm’s case-management system
  • Maintain accurate, well-organized electronic and physical case files
  • Prepare and file documents through NYSCEF and other applicable e-filing systems, ensuring compliance with procedural rules and deadlines
  • Assist with drafting and preparing pleadings and litigation documents, including petitions, summonses and complaints, motions, proposed orders, and notices of entry
  • Conduct background research and obtain public records as needed to support case progress
  • Coordinate and track service of process on parties and non-parties
  • Monitor attorney calendars, litigation deadlines, and scheduled court appearances
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and pro se litigants
  • Provide consistent, reliable support to attorneys on routine litigation tasks and workflow management

Work Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:15 PM
  • Full-time position (37.5 hours per week)
  • Includes a 45-minute lunch break
  • This is an in-person position

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary, commensurate with experience, ranging from $50,000 to $60,000, annually.
  • Paid holidays, vacation, and sick time.
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • 401(k) with employer safe harbor contribution.
  • Paid underground parking.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience in civil litigation support, with prior work in foreclosure, default services, collections, or similar high-volume practices strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a moderate-to-heavy caseload environment
  • Comfortable handling routine, repetitive, and process-driven tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Self-directed and dependable; able to work independently without close supervision
  • Positive, cooperative, and team-oriented mindset—friendly, professional, and easy to work with
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Associate’s degree or Paralegal Studies certificate preferred
