Position Summary
The CDL Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of company trucks to transport trailers between customer locations and Fleet facilities. This position ensures all activities comply with company standards, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and established safety procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain company trucks in compliance with all Federal, State, and company regulations.
- Pick up and deliver trailers to and from customer locations for repair work.
- Move trailers in and out of the shop when not assigned to pick up or delivery routes.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections on both truck and trailer.
- Accurately use and maintain records through the company’s Electronic Logging Device (ELD) system.
- Refuel and clean assigned vehicles to ensure readiness and professional presentation.
- Adhere to all DOT, safety, and company operating procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A required.
- Clean driving record meeting company insurance requirements.
- Prior experience of operating heavy-duty trucks and hauling trailers required.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and ELD systems.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and inspections.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
- Ability to climb in and out of vehicles and handle trailer connections.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
