Palm Beach Day Academy, established in 1921, is an independent coeducational school, serving almost 600 students from age 2 to Grade 8 on two campuses. The Lower School, located in West Palm Beach, serves ages 2 yrs. through 3rd Grade. The Lower School is currently seeking a dynamic and engaging Physical Education Teacher dedicated to promoting a healthy mind and body in young children for the 2026-27 School Year.

The Lower School Physical Education Teacher designs and delivers an innovative and developmentally appropriate physical education program for students ages 2 through 9. The educator fosters a positive environment that promotes physical wellness, fine and gross motor skill development, sportsmanship, collaboration, and joyful movement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement engaging physical education lessons tailored to students ages 2 through 3rd grade.
• Organize innovative games, activities and challenges that promote motor skill development and peer collaboration
• Foster good sportsmanship, teamwork, cooperation, and social-emotional growth
• Provide fun, inclusive, and effective instruction that meets diverse developmental needs
• Collaborate with school nurses to integrate lessons on mindfulness, nutrition and healthy lifestyle habits
• Apply current professional research and best practices in physical education
• Contribute regularly to school community life and activities
• Lead, plan and organize the Lower School Field Day, coordinating and executing age- appropriate activities and logistics
• Other duties as assigned

Selection Criteria:

? A bachelor’s degree in physical education

? Master’s degree preferred Knowledge of current professional literature and best practices in physical education

? Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an elementary physical education teacher

? Excellent written and verbal communication skills
