Cutting Edge Countertops is a growing, multi-location countertop fabrication and installation company known for craftsmanship, operational excellence, and a strong team culture. We are seeking a hands-on, detail-driven Controller to lead our day-to-day accounting and financial operations.
This is not a purely strategic role — we are looking for a roll-up-your-sleeves financial leader who thrives in the details, strengthens processes, and partners closely with operations to drive accuracy, accountability, and growth.
Position OverviewThe Controller will oversee accounting, payroll, inventory accuracy, and financial reporting across multiple locations. You will play a critical role in monthly close, cost accuracy, working capital management, and maintaining disciplined financial processes as we scale.

Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial Reporting
- Lead and actively participate in monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure financial accuracy
- Produce timely P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies quickly and thoroughly
- Oversee payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees
- Ensure accuracy in time reporting, overtime, and wage calculations
- Review payroll tax filings and ensure regulatory compliance
- Partner with HR on compensation updates and employee data accuracy
- Resolve payroll issues with urgency and precision
- Collaborate with operations to ensure accurate labor and material reporting
- Monitor inventory and assist with physical counts and reconciliations
- Review production-related expenses for proper coding and cost accuracy
- Provide operational leaders with clear, actionable financial insights
- Oversee accounts receivable collections and accounts payable processing
- Maintain discipline around working capital and inventory controls
- Maintain strong internal controls across all locations
- Support external accountants, auditors, and tax preparers
- Ensure GAAP compliance and adherence to company policies
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation
- Identify inefficiencies in accounting and payroll processes
- Improve reporting accuracy and timeliness
- Support ERP and accounting system enhancements
- Implement scalable processes to support company growth
- Supervise accounting and payroll staff
- Provide hands-on training and clear accountability
- Step in directly when needed to meet deadlines
- Strong accounting background, preferably in manufacturing or multi-location operations
- Experience with payroll oversight for hourly and salaried teams
- Detail-oriented with high standards for accuracy
