Position Overview

The Staff Accountant has a background in tax preparation, financial reporting, and client service or relevant education in accounting or finance. This position offers significant growth potential within the firm and the opportunity to work with a diverse client base in a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns

• Perform compilation and review engagements for small to mid-sized clients

• Assist with tax planning and compliance for clients in various industries

• Utilize accounting software including QuickBooks and Thomson Reuters suite (UltraTax, Engagement Manager, etc.)

• Maintain organized and accurate documentation in accordance with firm standards

• Stay current with changes in tax laws and accounting standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, completed or pursuing (required)

• Planning to pursue the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in Michigan (preferred, not required)

• Experience with QuickBooks and Thomson Reuters software is a plus

• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

• Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
