About This Position

The Estimator role provides enabling service to our organization by establishing product standard costs through collaboration with a cross-functional team of engineers and supply chain professionals. Requests may come from external customers through the Sales and Customer Service teams as new business opportunities and requoting existing work, or from internal customers investigating new processes and cost improvement opportunities.

Essential Key Functions and Accountabilities: (Responsibilities and major tasks performed)

  • Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates within the timeframe requirements in the following manner:
    • Deconstruct products from drawings and models into processing requirements
    • Use established standards to determine material use and labor rates
    • Solicit detailed information from Subject Matter Experts for non-standard process applications and tooling costs
    • Coordinate purchased items and services RFQ’s through our Supply Chain
    • Roll cost and report results
  • Communicate status of estimates in progress and metrics on delivery performance through standard reports and routine Quote Meetings.
  • Develop and implement improvements to our quote process that will provide greater accuracy and reduce lead time for quoting.

Experience and Education Required:

2-year degree or equivalent experience in a relevant technical field

  • (Required (R) or Desired/Preferred (D)
  • (R) Read, Write and Speak English
  • (R) High school diploma or GED
  • (D) Experience with Microsoft Office Products
  • (D) Experience with ERP systems
  • (R) 3D CAD skills (Solidworks preferred)
