About This Position
Description:
The Heavy Commercial Chiller Sales Associate is responsible for driving the sales and business development of heavy commercial chiller systems (including centrifugal, screw, scroll, and absorption chillers) to commercial, industrial, and institutional clients. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, strategic sales planning, and customer relationship management to achieve revenue targets and expand market share.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities in the commercial HVAC market with a focus on chiller systems (300+ ton capacity).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with mechanical contractors, consulting engineers, building owners, and facility managers.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations to clients and stakeholders.
- Respond to RFPs, RFQs, and other bid processes in collaboration with the Chill Water Operations Manager.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to close deals in alignment with company targets.
- Technical Expertise:
- Maintain a strong understanding of heavy commercial chiller products (air-cooled, water-cooled, absorption, etc.).
- Collaborate with application engineers to develop and propose tailored system solutions based on client needs.
- Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive products.
- Client & Project Management:
- Provide pre-sale and post-sale support to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with internal project managers and service teams to ensure smooth equipment delivery and installation.
- Monitor market conditions and customer feedback to improve offerings.
- Reporting & Strategy:
- Maintain accurate CRM records and sales forecasts.
- Provide regular updates on sales activities, pipeline development, and competitive intelligence.
- Assist in developing regional sales strategies and marketing plans.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business, or related field (preferred).
- 3–5+ years of experience in HVAC or chiller sales (heavy commercial/industrial segment).
- Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems and chilled water plant applications.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the sales territory.
- Experience with major chiller brands (e.g., Trane, York, Carrier, Daikin).
