The Senior Linux Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable Linux-based systems within enterprise environments. This role plays a critical part in the optimization, automation, and cybersecurity compliance of mission-critical infrastructure. The administrator ensures operational stability, supports incident response, and leads system modernization and automation efforts.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, including configuration, patching, and tuning.
• Implement and maintain automation using Ansible, Bash, and Python for configuration and deployment.
• Perform system hardening, vulnerability remediation, and compliance audits in alignment with DoD STIGs and NIST 800-53.
• Test, configure and implement policy for sssd, firewalld, chrony, fapolicyd, selinux, grub, 3rd party software and others.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues, conduct root cause analysis, and support high-severity incident response.
• Maintain detailed system documentation, SOPs, and recovery procedures.
• Support backup, disaster recovery, and continuity of operations planning (COOP).
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, networking, and application teams to ensure system integrity and availability

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related technical field.

Experience:

• Proficiency with RHEL, Satellite, Ansible, Git, and shell scripting.
• Familiarity with windows ecosystem (AD, kerberos, SCOM)
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and virtualization technologies
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills

Certifications:

• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE) required.
• Active Secret clearance (TS/SCI eligibility preferred).
• RHCSA or RHCE certification preferred
