Job Description

Shifts Available:
- 5:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Essential Functions:
- Answers nurse call systems to determine resident needs.
- Assists residents with dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, hair care, and incontinence care.
- Obtains food trays and assists residents with eating.
- Assists residents with range-of-motion exercises and movement to and from wheelchairs or activity areas.
- Assists residents with turning and positioning in bed.
- Assists residents with ambulation throughout the facility.
- Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output as directed.
- Documents ADLs, resident personal cares, and device use on flow sheets or task sheets.
- Attends interdisciplinary meetings as needed to provide input into resident care plans.
- Documents restorative services provided in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
- Assists facility staff in providing person-centered care based on resident preferences.
- Maintains punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts.

Requirements:Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Licenses/Certification
- Valid certification as a CNA in the state of employment.
- Valid CPR certificate preferred.
Experience
- Six months experience in a long term-care environment preferred.
NOTE: A CNA who successfully completes an approved advanced skills training curriculum and/or has demonstrated experience in a needed clinical specialty area, e.g. ventilator, pulmonary, and tracheostomy (VPT), can be classified as a CNA II.
