Manufacturing Machinist at ITC Manufacturing – Phoenix, Arizona

SUMMARY

The machinist will be responsible for producing precision parts and instruments of various metals, as well as general equipment repairs. This involves reading and interpreting blueprints, setting up and operating various machines and use of tools, and ensuring the finished products meet quality standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate a variety of machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders to fabricate, shape, and modify metal, plastic, or copper materials
• Use precision tools
• Set up and operate mechanical tools to cut, grind metal, plastic, copper or other materials
• Read, understand, and interpret blueprints, schematics and manuals to determine the required dimensions, shapes, and tolerances of the parts needing to be produced.
• Plan and carry out the operations needed to make machined products that meet precise specifications
• Maintain a clean and organized working environment, including the Machine Shop and Copper Room
• Assist Maintenance department with equipment repairs
• Additional duties assigned

KNOWLEDEGE REQUIREMENTS

1. Extensive knowledge of lathe tooling.
2. Proficiency with surface plate inspection.
3. Knowledge of tools and their intended use.
4. Knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

1. Self-Starter with excellent written and oral communication skills required.
2. Excellent attention to detail
3. Strong Math and Analytical abilities
4. Basic computer skills
5. High school diploma or equivalent, completion of vocational training
6. Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items
7. Knowledge of Spanish a plus.
