About This Position

The Tampa Bay Rowdies Marketing and Communications department is seeking a director for a full-time position. This individual will lead a team of marketing and communications professionals. The department's objectives are to maintain an exceptional reputation for the Rowdies brand, increase awareness of the Rowdies, and develop strategies for player storytelling through traditional and digital media.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead digital strategy across all club channels, including website, email, social media, and mobile platforms.
  2. Oversee creation of compelling social media content, video storytelling, and digital campaigns to grow audience and engagement.
  3. Manage and optimize traditional media buys (print, radio, TV, outdoor, etc.) and promotional partnerships.
  4. Oversee creative campaigns that increase matchday attendance and enhance fan engagement.
  5. Manage internal and external communications, including crisis communications and key messaging.
  6. Build strong relationships with key local, regional, and national media contacts.
  7. Establish communication practices, tools, and protocols to enhance internal operations and external outreach.
  8. Oversee departmental budgeting, resource allocation, and strategic planning to ensure efficient and effective marketing and communications operations.
  9. Manage and support a small marketing and communications team, providing mentorship and professional development.

Qualifications

  1. Prior sports experience in marketing and media relations, as well as an understanding of digital media.
  2. Strong understanding of the foundations of belonging and experience, facilitating principles, and standard.
  3. Ability to stay calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  5. Spanish fluency favored
  6. Detail- and deadline-oriented
  7. Highly motivated and well organized
  8. Strong knowledge of professional soccer
  9. Flexibility to travel and adjust hours to work home games and other events, including weekends and holidays
