Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficient Kitchen Operations: Prepare, cook, and serve food following standardized recipes and CACFP guidelines. Ensure all kitchen needs and issues are communicated promptly.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory, place orders, and ensure proper delivery and storage of food and supplies.
  • Sanitation and Safety: Adhere to sanitation and safety procedures defined by the Ohio Department of Health and USDA. Maintain exemplary cleanliness and recordkeeping.
  • Emergency Response: Handle unexpected issues such as staff shortages or equipment malfunctions efficiently and professionally.
  • Communication: Communicate menu changes, inventory needs, and other important information effectively with team members and supervisors.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Experience: Minimum of two years in large-scale food production, including knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures.
  • Certifications: Completion of comprehensive manager certification in food protection and ServSafe Manager certification.
  • Time Management: Strong ability to meet deadlines and manage workload efficiently.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Abilities:

  • Repetitive Motion: Frequent use of hands for food preparation and computer tasks.
  • Standing and Walking: Continuous standing and walking in the kitchen.
  • Lifting: Regular lifting of bulk food items and food bins weighing 10-70 lbs.
  • Reaching and Stooping: Regular reaching for utensils and food items and stooping to retrieve items from lower shelves.
  • CELC is a multi site child care agency. Kitchen Staff are responsible for the daily delivery of lunch using their own vehicle. Additional deliveries may be needed for snack and other meal component 1 – 2 times a week. Mileage reimbursement is provided.
