Let your fun shine as a General Store Cashier!
General Store Cashiers support the Living History Museum, Cracker Country by maintaining the souvenir shop, keeping a balanced cash drawer and providing stellar customer service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- General Store Cashiers are responsible for completing sales of merchandise. Cashiers will operate a computerized screen for transactions.
- Cashiers assist with stocking, customer service and light cleaning of the work area.
- Must be available to work Tuesdays – Fridays, 9:45-1pm and occasional Saturdays. Good attendance is expected.
AVAILABILITY:
General Store Cashiers are expected to be available 75% of the time for our school tour programs. This is a 10-12 hour per week position during the school year, with possible additional hours during museum events and the Annual Florida State Fair.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent/GED
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
-Minimum of one (1) year of experience in cashiering, cash handling, and/or cash and credit card transactions.
-Minimum of one (1) year of experience in customer service.
-Must know how to use a computer and be familiar with modern cash register technology.
-Experience working in a specialty gift shop or museum store environment is a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Duties are performed 85% or more in a retail store setting. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with arms and hands, talk, hear and occasionally lift or move objects 10-20 pounds.
