The Opportunity
ILAC is currently applying for certification as a group 4 independent school, located in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia.
We are seeking a High School Principal to join our team on a part-time basis/capacity as we begin our planning steps with our independent school. The successful candidate will join us in an Acting Principal capacity with the hopes to assume the role once planning is completed.
The ideal candidate will have a BC Teaching Certificate and secondary education administration experience.
Responsibilities:
• Evaluate procedures, operations, curricula, and program effectiveness, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
• Develop improvement strategies for the academic environment and manage program evaluation, personnel, and office operations.
• Conduct research, analyze policies and programs, and produce reports to ensure the effectiveness of education initiatives.
• Develop new programs, teaching materials, and provide ongoing training and consultative services throughout the company.
• Perform other duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
• Valid and active BC teaching certificate.
• Bachelor’s degree in education, master’s degree in relevant field preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years teaching and educational administration experience in a secondary setting is preferred
• Experience as a secondary school Principal is an asset.
• Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work independently and with a diverse team.
• Initiative to set priorities and identify plans of action.
• High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning.
• Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines.
