Society Insurance is seeking an experienced Senior Claims Representative to join our Claims Team. This position has a general liability focus. This role will independently resolve large and significantly complex general liability claims by determining and documenting loss, negotiating out-of-court settlements, and mentoring claims representatives.

About the Role

  • Settles large and complex claims by determining insurance carrier’s liability.
  • Handles mediations, arbitrations, and subrogation within authority level.
  • Determines coverage by meeting with insureds, securing evidence, inspecting losses, investigating incidents, interpreting and explaining policy coverage, and determining subrogation.
  • Documents repairs by scoping losses, hiring experts, preparing estimates, and reviewing exposures.
  • Completes claims by obtaining, providing, and exchanging information with relevant third parties.
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing claim information.
  • Manages litigated files and recommends litigation by analyzing negotiated settlement options and evaluating evidence.
  • Resolves litigated claims by referring cases to attorneys, analyzing state statutes, evaluating evidence, and working with the attorneys in developing strategy for resolution of the case.
  • Mentors and trains Claim Representatives in area(s) of claims expertise.

What it Will Take

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of claims-handling experience OR 7+ years of claims-handling experience.
  • Familiarity with PC Applications.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain proper licensing prior to handling a state that requires it.
  • Professional designations of AIC, ARM, CIC, CPCU or equivalent coursework highly preferred
