About This Position
Position Description: Job Summary:
The Club Van Driver is responsible for safely transporting youth members to and from the Boys & Girls Club and designated pick-up/drop-off points such as schools and neighborhoods. The driver plays a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of children during transit and representing the Club in a professional, friendly manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Club vehicles in a safe and responsible manner at all times.
- Transport members to and from the Club, schools, field trips, and special events as assigned.
- Ensure all passengers follow safety rules, including proper seatbelt use and orderly behavior.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; report any maintenance or safety concerns immediately.
- Maintain accurate trip logs and vehicle inspection reports.
- Communicate effectively with Club staff.
- Ensure the vehicle remains clean and fueled.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and Club transportation policies.
- Act as a positive role model and promote a safe, respectful environment for youth.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid drivers license with clean driving record.
- Previous experience transporting children or working with youth preferred.
- Ability to pass background check and meet state/federal requirements for working with minors.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a calm, patient demeanor.
Physical and Other Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and drive for extended periods.
- Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
- Flexibility in schedule based on Club needs, including occasional evenings or weekends.
