About This Position
Catheterization Technologist/Interventional Procedures
Catheterization Technologist/Interventional Procedures Responsibilities:
The Catheterization Technologist is an essential member of the Interventional Procedures team, providing technical and clinical support during diagnostic and interventional cardiac, vascular, electrophysiology, and neurointerventional procedures. The technologist works under the direction of physicians, assisting with hemodynamic monitoring, imaging, sterile scrubbing, and procedural documentation.
- Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Operate and troubleshoot hemodynamic monitoring, imaging, and recording equipment.
- Scrub, circulate, or monitor cases while maintaining sterile technique.
- Prepare procedure rooms and ensure supplies/equipment readiness.
- Monitor patient vital signs and waveforms during procedures.
- Support patient care needs, including positioning, comfort, and safety.
- Provide clear communication and education to patients and families as appropriate.
Catheterization Technologist/Interventional Procedures Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, Surgical Technology, or equivalent allied health program.
- New graduates welcome to apply.
- Prior Cath Lab, EP Lab, Interventional Radiology, or Interventional Neurosurgery experience preferred.
- Requires knowledge of diagnostic radiology principles and procedures as well as operation and maintenance of radiographic equipment consistent with applicable licensure,).
- Ability to achieve homeostasis from puncture sites using continuous manual pressure for a minimum of 30 minutes.
- Ability to participate in critical thinking promotes desired positive .
- Ability to read, write, hear, speak and comprehend the English language.
- Perform under stress when confronted with emergencies, critical, or situations in which work speed and sustained attention are required aspects of the job.
- Requires fine finger movements with above average dexterity.
- Requires sustained, long periods of standing.
- Candidates may qualify through one of the following credentialing pathways:
- ARRT(R) – Radiologic Technologist with current ARRT certification in Radiography.
- RCIS – Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist
- CVT – Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program with credential/registry eligibility.
- CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) – Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program with national certification preferred (NBSTSA).
- Additional requirements:
- BLS (or obtained within 90 days of hire).
- ACLS certification (or obtained within 6 months of hire).
Salary Range: $32.50 to $51.00/hr (based on experience)
- Night and evening shift differential
