Lifesteps is hiring a Full -Time Child Care Staff / Teacher Aide in the Saxonburg, PA area.

Lifesteps is immediately hiring a full-time Teacher Aide (also known as Child Care Assistants or Assistant Group Supervisor) to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, in the preschool classroom inside Knoch Primary School. This position works during the school year only. Summers off work.

Job duties include:

• the care and supervision of children, ages 3 years to 5 years old
• assisting with lesson planning and creating fun activities
• teaching early education concepts (colors, letters, numbers, etc.)
• supervising indoor and outdoor play time
• informing parents about the child's day

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• High School Diploma/GED and two years of experience working with children - can be paid or unpaid work such as Summer Camps, Church Nursery, Babysitting, Bible School, Volunteering with children, etc.
• Ability to lift or move up to 30 pounds without assistance
• Ability to provide acceptable state clearances
• Able to multi-task and work in a team environment.

Preferred:

• Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or Human Services field
• Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or Human Services field OR 60 credits
