Job Title: Sales Intern

Department: Sales

Reports To: RavenTek Chief Growth Officer

Location: Ashburn, VA

Schedule: 2-3 days per week, Monday through Friday

Hours: Temporary Part-time, up to 20-hours/week

FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Clearance: None

Position Summary

The Sales Intern will support RavenTek’s business operations through hands-on involvement in proposal development, data analytics, client engagement, and emerging technology initiatives. This role is designed to provide meaningful, real-world experience aligned with the intern’s academic background and career interests. The intern will collaborate across multiple departments, contributing to strategic initiatives such as proposal writing, data-driven analysis, and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. The position offers exposure to client-facing activities, industry networking, and innovative technology applications, supporting RavenTek’s mission to deliver high-quality solutions to its customers.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support proposal development efforts, including research, content drafting, editing, and formatting of deliverables.
  • Conduct data analysis to support business development, program performance tracking, and decision-making initiatives.
  • Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and briefings for internal stakeholders and client engagements.
  • Attend client meetings, take notes, and assist with follow-up actions and deliverables.
  • Contribute to AI-related initiatives, including research, development support, and testing of emerging tools and technologies.
  • Conduct research on industry trends, federal market developments, and competitive landscape to support strategic growth.
  • Engage in professional networking opportunities and industry events to gain exposure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects and organizational priorities.
  • Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period.
  • Monitor RavenTek email on a regular basis, at least 3 times per week, and respond accordingly.
  • Complete required compliance training as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Critical Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to contribute to professional deliverables.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently in a dynamic environment.

Education & Work Experience

  • Must be enrolled in a college or university working towards earning a degree in a relevant field.
  • Must have and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Work Environment

Employee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Potential moderate temperature fluctuations. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.

Physical Demands

To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; see to read printed materials and computer screens; mobility to work in a typical office setting. Ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and may be required to provide recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee must be able to lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically up to 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
