CLS Student Educator at Willis-Knighton Health System – Shreveport, Louisiana

The Medical Laboratory Scientist provides clinical Microbiology instruction to Clinical Laboratory Science Students rotating through the Willis Knighton Health System Microbiology Laboratory.

Provides clinical training in both a classroom setting and a laboratory for Clinical Laboratory Science students, utilizing effective educational methodologies and technologies to provide support to the LSUHSC Allied Health curriculum.

Works directly with the Assistant Professor/Clinical Coordinator in the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences School of Allied Health at LSU Health.

Coordinates and supervises student laboratory instruction.

PRN — Hours will vary during the daytime.

Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field with one (1) year of clinical laboratory experience. Microbiology experience required.

Each applicant must possess a valid Louisiana State License in Clinical Laboratory Science and certification as a Medical Technologist (MT), ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathology), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), NCA (National Certification Agency) or equivalent.
