About This Position

Payment Operations Manager

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Payment Operations Manager in the United States.

This role provides an exciting opportunity to own and build the operational backbone of a high-volume, multi-rail payment platform. You will manage end-to-end reconciliation, settlements, and dispute workflows across ACH, RTP/FedNow, card rails, and stablecoins, ensuring reliability, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. As a hands-on operator, you will collaborate closely with Engineering, Compliance, Finance, and Banking partners to implement scalable processes and automation. This position allows you to define operational standards that will support 10x current transaction volumes while improving monitoring, exception handling, and partner communications. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, problem-solving environment and is passionate about building operational infrastructure from the ground up. You will be directly accountable for performance metrics, dispute outcomes, and partner satisfaction, while driving continuous improvement across the payment ecosystem.

Accountabilities:
  • Own end-to-end reconciliation and settlement processes across ACH, RTP/FedNow, Visa Direct, Mastercard Move, and stablecoin rails
  • Build and maintain monitoring systems to detect transaction anomalies, latency issues, and operational breaks before they impact clients
  • Develop and manage exception workflows, ensuring efficient categorization, routing, escalation, and resolution within SLAs
  • Lead the full dispute and chargeback lifecycle, including evidence collection, submission, tracking, and reporting for card and ACH transactions
  • Serve as the operational contact for banking partners and rail operators, ensuring smooth day-to-day interactions and issue resolution
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to instrument observability, implement self-healing automation, and improve operational KPIs
  • Track, report, and analyze metrics such as settlement break rates, dispute resolution times, and partner-specific performance trends
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in payment operations, fintech operations, or financial partner operations at a payment processor, bank, or payments infrastructure company
  • Deep understanding of multi-rail money movement, including ACH, RTP/FedNow, Visa Direct, Mastercard Move, and ideally stablecoin rails
  • Hands-on reconciliation expertise, including data analysis, query writing, and tooling implementation
  • Proven dispute and chargeback management experience with knowledge of Visa, Mastercard, and NACHA rules
  • Strong technical fluency to collaborate with engineering teams and shape monitoring and automation requirements
  • Operator mentality: ability to build processes, close loops, and own outcomes end-to-end
  • Experience in early-to-mid-stage fintech environments, building systems from scratch
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred: Experience with payment facilitators, operational dashboards and alerting tools (Datadog, Metabase), sponsor bank relationships, or blockchain/stablecoin settlement flows

Benefits:
  • Competitive salary with equity opportunities in a growing fintech company
  • Remote-first culture with flexible work arrangements within the U.S.
  • Direct impact role within a small, mission-driven team
  • Professional development opportunities in compliance, risk, and operations
  • Exposure to multi-rail payment systems and cutting-edge financial infrastructure
  • Inclusive and collaborative work environment with a focus on growth and innovation
