JOB SUMMARY
The MRI Technologist is responsible for ensuring patient safety and producing high-quality Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) studies. This role requires effective communication with patients, staff, and radiologists, and may include training new technologists and/or patient coordinators as needed. Note: This is a PRN, as needed, position
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure patient safety, including thorough pre-screening for MRI contraindications and proper aseptic injection techniques
- Produce high-quality diagnostic MRI images
- Position patients using appropriate immobilization and protective equipment to comply with safety regulations and ensure patient/staff safety
- Conduct MRI safety screenings prior to procedure performance
- Start IVs and administer contrast media as directed and according to protocol
- Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality and accuracy
- Manage supplies, assist with daily cleaning of MRI unit, and support patient transport preparation
- Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and radiologists
- Train new technologists and/or patient coordinators as assigned
- Coordinate scheduling logistics and assist with patient flow to optimize efficiency
- Conduct MRI safety screenings prior to procedure performance by identifying and mitigating potential hazards related to magnetic fields, equipment, and patient conditions within the MRI environment.

QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
- Active ARRT (R), ARRT (MR), or ARMRIT certification
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- 1–2 years of MRI experience preferred
