Lead Host at Mias Italian Kitchen FL – ORLANDO, Florida

Lead Hosts oversee host operations, train the host team, and manage guest flow to ensure high-quality service. They act as the primary contact for seating, managing reservations, and resolving guest concerns. Key tasks include managing table turnovers, coaching and developing the team during service, and supporting staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Train, mentor, and coach the host team, and provide ongoing support during service.
• Guest Service & Management: Greet guests, manage reservations (OpenTable), set up waitlists, and resolve guest complaints with professional, prompt, and calm service.
• Floor Management: Optimize table turnover by tracking clean, dirty, and occupied tables, ensuring fair seating, and communicating with servers to manage table distribution.
• Operational Support: Maintain cleanliness at the host stand/waiting area, answer phone calls, manage to-go orders, and ensure compliance with safety/alcohol regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience: 2-3 years of previous experience as a host in a high-volume restaurant.
• Skills: Strong communication skills, expertise in Opentable, excellent customer service abilities, and the ability to work under pressure.

• Able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
• Able to grasp, lift, and/or carry up to 50 lbs. as needed.
• Able to withstand changes in temperature, occasional smoke, steam, and heat.
• Able to work in a confined area.
• Must possess hearing, visual, and sensory abilities to observe and detect emergencies; and to distinguish product, taste, texture, temperature, presentation, and preparation.
