About the Role:
The Inside Sales position is pivotal in driving revenue growth by engaging with prospective and existing customers primarily through phone, email, and in person. This role focuses on understanding customer needs, presenting tailored product solutions, and managing the sales process from initial contact through to closing. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with contractors, homeowners and sales teams to ensure alignment and maximize sales opportunities. Additionally, they will maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales activities Ultimately, this role aims to build strong customer relationships that foster loyalty and repeat business while contributing to the overall success of the sales organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2+ years of retail sales, counter sales, or inside sales experience
- Experience working in a fast-paced customer-facing environment
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable using POS systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel)
- Ability to manage multiple customers and priorities at once
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience selling hardware, lumber, millwork, or building materials
- Knowledge of construction materials and basic building practices
- Experience managing accounts and entering orders accurately
Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers at the retail counter in a professional and timely manner
- Provide knowledgeable product recommendations based on customer needs
- Prepare accurate quotes and process sales orders
- Answer inbound calls and support customer inquiries
- Build and maintain relationships with contractor and repeat customers
- Collaborate with yard staff and operations to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment
- Maintain clean, organized counter and showroom areas
- Meet or exceed monthly sales and margin targets
