Driver at Independence Health System – Perryville, Missouri

SUMMARY: Responsible for providing transportation of residents and/or residents family members if they wish to ride along to and from hospitals, dialysis centers, medical offices, and any other medical facilities in a safe, secure, and professional manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Transport residents utilizing company vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
2. Maintain a professional image and attitude.
3. Assist residents as needed to safely complete the transfer.
4. Must be able to understand and operate GPS device and/or cell phone.
5. Effectively communicate with immediate supervisor on schedules.
6. Flexibility in schedule to accommodate ever changing needs.
7. Vehicle maintenance-keep vehicles clean (wash, vacuum as needed), gas as needed, and let Maintenance Department know when close to being ready for an oil change.
8. All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must be at least 18 years of age.
2. Valid driver’s license with a Class E certification.
3. Must be physically able to step up and down steps, safely secure clients for transport, lift up to 50 lbs., and transport wheelchair residents on paved and unpaved surfaces.
4. Ability to follow instructions.
