Who We Are Looking For:
We are looking for a highly skilled Tier 3 Data Center Engineer to join our Managed Services team. This individual will act as the highest level of escalation for all priority incidents for clients and will provide guidance to Tier 2 and Service Desk team members. This person will assess client environments for enhancements and against best practices, as well as improve internal processes. Success will require advanced/expert knowledge of virtualization, storage, VDI, and data protection; outstanding customer support; excellent communication skills; and close collaboration with other teams across the Managed Services organization.
What you will be doing as a Tier 3 Data Center Engineer
- Provide diagnostic and restoration efforts for priority incidents, as well as guide root cause analysis
- Act as a mentor to Tier 2 and Service Desk team members, providing technical assistance and guidance
- Evaluate client environments for optimization and improvement
- Solve escalated incidents that exceed the skills of Tier 2 to ensure service restoration is executed in a timely manner
- Participate in project activities as needed
- Develop documentation and SOPs for project deliverables and support procedures
Required education, technical skills, and/or experience:
- Advanced Professional-level certifications required
- ITIL Foundation (or higher) preferred.
- 3+ years of experience with data center technologies
- Proficient with AT LEAST THREE of the following technologies for SEVEN OR MORE YEARS
- VMWare Hypervisor and vSphere
- Nutanix Hypervisor
- VDI Infrastructure
- Data Protection Solutions
- AWS and Azure Cloud Solutions
- Pure Storage
- Isilon Storage
- Ability to translate technical findings into clear, business-aligned recommendations.
- Strong collaboration with Client Success and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer-focused mindset with strong follow-through.
- Strong mentoring approach and commitment to continuous learning.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
TRAVEL:
Travel is occasionally required for this position. Must have a valid driver’s license and motor vehicle insurance.
