About This Position
POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Die Cast Support Technician is responsible for supporting die casting operations by troubleshooting equipment, optimizing processes, and ensuring high-quality production standards. This role serves as a technical expert on die casting machinery and processes, providing guidance to operators and maintenance teams to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and maintain safety and quality standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Provide advanced technical support for die casting machines, tooling, and auxiliary equipment
· Troubleshoot and resolve process, mechanical, and quality issues in a timely manner
· Optimize die casting parameters (temperature, pressure, cycle time, etc.) to improve productivity and reduce scrap
· Lead die setup, changeovers, and validation of new or modified tooling
· Monitor production processes and recommend continuous improvement initiatives
· Train and mentor junior technicians and machine operators
· Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to implement process improvements
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
· Support preventive maintenance programs and assist in equipment repairs
· Maintain accurate documentation of process changes, troubleshooting actions, and production data

WORKING CONDITIONS
Heavy Manufacturing Environment. MKC houses different machinery, equipment, processes, and chemicals which produce potential hazards in the work environment such as: ergonomic, chemical, machine point of operation, and powered industrial vehicle traffic. These hazards are controlled through means of engineering controls, such as machine guarding, and administrative controls, such as safety policies and programs. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to noisy. In certain areas of the facility, employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, and hand protection.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand, stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to regularly walk throughout all the manufacturing facilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis.
· High school diploma or GED (Associate’s degree or technical certification preferred)
· 7+ years of experience in die casting or related manufacturing environment
· 3+ years of experience with automated die casting systems and robotics
· Familiarity with PLC systems and basic programming
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
JOB SKILLS
- Strong knowledge of die casting processes (aluminum, zinc, or magnesium preferred)
- Experience with troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Proficiency with measurement tools and quality inspection methods
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT
· Less than 5%
