In this role, you will support mission-critical government systems by developing and maintaining essential Risk Management Framework (RMF) documentation and technical artifacts for complex applications in a secure, highly regulated environment. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including engineering, cybersecurity, and government teams, to ensure systems remain compliant, secure, and properly documented throughout the software lifecycle. The position blends functional analysis, cybersecurity awareness, and structured documentation ownership, making it highly impactful for system authorization and operational readiness. You will contribute to vulnerability analysis, system controls validation, and process improvements that strengthen overall security posture. Working in an Agile environment, you will help translate technical needs into clear documentation, diagrams, and actionable requirements. This is a remote role offering exposure to large-scale defense and federal IT programs, with strong emphasis on collaboration, precision, and compliance excellence.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop, maintain, and update RMF documentation including Incident Response Plans, Configuration Management Plans, Information System Contingency Plans, and Access Control Plans to support system Authorization to Operate (ATO) readiness.
  • Conduct analysis to gather information for RMF artifacts, technical documentation, and system diagrams using tools such as Visio.
  • Perform and support vulnerability and risk analysis across all phases of the SDLC, documenting findings and creating remediation tickets in Jira.
  • Collaborate with government and contractor stakeholders to ensure documentation aligns with security controls, standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Support Agile delivery by contributing to sprint planning, requirements clarification, and cross-functional coordination with engineering and cybersecurity teams.
  • Maintain and validate system documentation, SOPs, and technical artifacts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with evolving system requirements.
  • Provide meeting documentation, assist with planning schedules for deliverables, and support continuous improvement of RMF and documentation processes.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in functional analysis, cybersecurity documentation, IT systems, or related technical roles.
  • Strong understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF), cybersecurity principles, and system security documentation practices.
  • Experience supporting Agile teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders in technical environments.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Visio, and documentation or workflow management systems.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management, SDLC processes, and system compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to translate technical information into structured documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance required and ability to maintain Security+ or equivalent DoD 8140 certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or equivalent experience.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range aligned with experience and location
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching
  • Paid vacation, holidays, sick leave, and flexible work arrangements
  • Paid parental leave and family support programs
  • Professional development, training, and certification reimbursement
  • Access to modern tools, technologies, and large-scale federal programs
  • Life, disability, and supplemental insurance options
  • Employee wellness and assistance programs.
