About the Role:

The Assistant Director of Global and Graduate Education (DSO) plays a pivotal role in advancing the institution's international and graduate education initiatives. This position is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of programs that support global engagement and graduate student success. The role requires collaboration with academic departments, international partners, and administrative units to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and to enhance the educational experience for diverse student populations. The Assistant Director will also lead efforts to foster an inclusive and supportive environment for international and graduate students, promoting cross-cultural understanding and academic excellence. Ultimately, this position contributes to the institution’s strategic goals by expanding global partnerships and enhancing the quality and reach of graduate education programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in higher education administration, with a focus on international education or graduate programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal regulations governing international students and scholars, including SEVIS and visa processes.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, International Education, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a Designated School Official (DSO) capacity or similar role.
  • Familiarity with global education trends and best practices in graduate student support.
  • Proficiency with student information systems and data analytics tools.
  • Multilingual abilities and experience working in multicultural environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate global education programs, including study abroad, international student services, and cross-border academic collaborations.
  • Oversee graduate education initiatives, ensuring alignment with institutional policies and supporting graduate student recruitment, retention, and success.
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations related to international students and scholars, including visa and immigration policies.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external partners to develop and implement strategies that enhance global engagement and graduate education quality.
  • Provide leadership and training to staff within the department, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Analyze program effectiveness through data collection and reporting, making recommendations for improvements based on findings.
  • Serve as a liaison between the institution and external agencies, including government bodies and international organizations.

Monday - Friday 8:30-5 PM with occasional Saturdays (3X/year) for EngageMore Weekends
