We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Inside Sales Representative to join our Livonia, MI team. This is a high-activity, phone-based sales role focused on outbound calling, lead qualification, and appointment setting to support our outside sales team.
As the first point of contact for many potential clients, you will play a critical role in creating interest, building relationships, and positioning Jani-King’s services as the trusted solution for their facility needs. Your efforts will directly fuel the pipeline for our sales executives, helping to expand our footprint in the Detroit/Metro Michigan market. The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business opportunities by engaging with business decision-makers through high-volume outbound calls, lead follow-up, and targeted outreach. You will introduce Jani-King’s services, qualify potential opportunities, and schedule qualified, high-value appointments for our outside sales team.
In this role, you are the engine of the sales pipeline — bridging the gap between first contact and closed business. Each day combines structured outreach with strategic follow-up — reaching out to hundreds of prospects, identifying needs, and building relationships that create real opportunities. You’ll work closely with regional leadership and outside sales to ensure quality leads and a seamless handoff for closing business.
High-Volume Outreach & Pipeline Building
- High-Volume Outreach: Proactively connect with 200+ targeted businesses daily across the Detroit/Metro Michigan region. Use a mix of outbound calls, email touches, and follow-up strategies to open conversations, build rapport, and consistently meet or exceed activity goals.
- Engage & Qualify Prospects: Quickly establish credibility with decision-makers, introduce Jani-King’s services, ask thoughtful discovery questions, and uncover facility challenges where our solutions can add real value.
- Lead Follow-Up: Nurture warm leads from marketing campaigns, inbound inquiries, networking events, and previous outreach. Keep prospects engaged and move them forward in the pipeline.
- Contribute to Campaigns: Play an active role in industry-specific promotions, seasonal outreach pushes, and regional sales initiatives that drive brand visibility and lead flow.
Appointment Setting & Results
- Appointment Setting: Secure qualified, high-value appointments for the outside sales team. Provide clear notes, expectations, and prospect insights to ensure a smooth transition and maximize closing potential.
- Pipeline Management: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of calls, conversations, and appointments in CRM systems. Provide visibility into pipeline health and ensure no opportunity slips through the cracks.
- Collaborate with Sales Team: Partner with outside sales to align on territory priorities, share prospect intelligence, and continuously refine outreach strategies for stronger results.
- Results Tracking: Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly metrics. Take ownership of your results by analyzing trends, adjusting strategies, and celebrating wins with the team.
We are specifically seeking candidates who have demonstrated consistent production in performance-driven environments.
- Prior telemarketing, inside sales, or outbound calling experience required
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed activity-based goals and performance metrics (calls, appointments set)
- Comfortable with high-volume cold outreach — phone and email
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems (HubSpot/Salesforce a plus)

💲 Compensation Package
$22 – $25/hour base pay + monthly performance bonuses

This position is based at our Jani-King Michigan Regional Office:
You’ll work primarily on-site in a professional office setting with daily collaboration, team engagement, and phone-based outreach to businesses across the Detroit/Metro Michigan region. This is a fast-paced, high-energy environment where you’ll be speaking with a wide variety of business decision-makers each day.
