What We Seek...

We are looking for an in-house Electrician to design and perform electrical work for our BoxPop custom shipping containers and facility electrical infrastructure maintenance/upgrade. Customized projects range from restaurants, to restrooms, to mobile bars to experiential event venues. Facility upgrades include relocation of power for equipment and installing new infrastructure for facility expansion. Job Summary and Job Functions

  • Design the electrical system or assist in the design process for each project, reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
  • Obtain any necessary permits
  • Order parts and equipment for the project
  • Inspect electrical components to ensure they work correctly and safely
  • Install new wiring, lighting and other electrical components
  • Maintain electrical systems
  • Diagnose problems in wiring and electrical systems and then make any necessary changes or repairs
  • Replace old or broken components
  • Awareness of and following local and national regulations for electrical systems and electrical safety
  • Operate forklifts and other machinery, as needed
  • Willingness and ability to follow MIOSHA and company safety guidelines and protocols

Requirements:
  • Knowledge and ability to understanding building codes and pull permits
  • Ability to perform electrical installations
  • Current electrician license
  • Ability to work on a team and communicate well with others
  • Must have an eye for detail and be reliable with a “we say yes” attitude
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and best practices
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and other diagrams
  • Knowledge of how to use electrical diagnostic tools
  • Ability to operate machinery, such as forklifts
  • Knowledge of MIOSHA safety guidelines and practices as well as local, state and national regulations for electrical safety
  • Cooperative teamwork approach and willingness to help and build others up around you

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
  • Ability to climb, stoop, balance, crouch, crawl, or/and kneel continually
  • Ability to work in confined spaces as needed and possibly at elevated heights
  • Communicating with others to exchange information
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Performing and assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness work
  • Light to medium duty work that includes moving or adjusting objects up to 50 pounds
  • Understanding of mathematical equations and computations necessary to perform essential functions
