Golf Course Maintenance Groundskeeper at Fairfield Mountains Property Owners – Lake Lure, North Carolina

The Golf Course Maintenance Crew Member is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the upkeep, playability, and aesthetic appeal of the golf course. This position involves mowing, landscaping, bunker maintenance, irrigation system upkeep, and general course repairs. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Duties include operating specialized golf course maintenance equipment, assisting with turf management, and following safety protocols to maintain high course standards.

The crew is scheduled to work Monday - Friday, 6am-2:30pm and 6am-10am every other weekend. This is a full-time position with medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401k, PTO and Sick pay included. Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.

Essential Job Functions:

• Mow greens, fairways, roughs, and tees using specialized golf course equipment. Operate and maintain landscaping tools such as trimmers, edgers, and blowers.
• Rake bunkers and ensure sand traps are properly maintained.
• Assist in irrigation system maintenance, including watering greens and repairing sprinklers.
• Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other turf treatments as directed.
• Repair divots and ball marks on greens to maintain smooth playing conditions.
• Maintain landscaping around the course, including trees, shrubs, and pathways.
• Perform general course cleanup, including removing debris and managing waste disposal.
• Assist in seasonal maintenance projects such as aerating, overseeding, and winterizing the course.
• Follow all safety protocols and operate equipment responsibly.

• Previous experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or golf course maintenance is a plus but not required.
• Ability to operate golf course maintenance equipment or willingness to learn.
• Basic knowledge of turf care and irrigation systems is preferred.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor, including bending, kneeling, and walking long distances.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Valid drivers license and ability to drive a vehicle for job-related duties.
